Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out for the first time together in 2018 to visit Reprezent Radio in Brixton, South London. This organization works with young people who want to pursue a career in music, offering training and exposing them to the industry.

The photogenic couple looked chic in neutral-colored ensembles. Always the stylish one, Meghan looked comfortable in a Marks and Spencer sweater, Burberry slacks, and black pumps under an oatmeal-colored Smythe coat. (No word yet on whether this coat will sell out like her engagement coat did!) Prince Harry looked handsome in a gray sweater which he layered over a crisp white button-down. To keep warm he wore an olive blazer and thick, dark pants.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Spend Christmas Together at Sandringham

Though much was written about whether or not Meghan Markle would be allowed to join the rest of the royal family at the Queen's residence at Sandringham, the Queen ultimately gave her grandson permission to bring his fiancée. The idea of a husband-and-wife-to-be spending the holidays together might not seem like a big deal, but it broke royal protocol.

Typically, only spouses of royal family members are allowed to attend the Queen Elizabeth's private Christmas festivities. When Kate Middleton and Prince William were still engaged, the future Duchess of Cambridge had to sit this one out even though she and her now husband had been together for seven years at that point.

During this Christmas trip, Meghan made headlines for performing her first public curtsy for the Queen. While some criticized her "awful" curtsy, we still give Meghan an A for effort. Curtsying for Queen Elizabeth is no small task!

Kensington Palace gifted us all an early Christmas present when they shared Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement photoshoot — how gorgeous! Fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski was the man behind the camera, and boy did he do an amazing job.

The couple, who was photographed by Lubomirski at Frogmore House, shared the photos on his personal Instagram account, saying: “A huge thank you to His Royal Highness Prince Harry and Ms. Markle, for allowing me to take their official engagement portraits. Not only was it an incredible honor, but also an immense privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for each other. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took.” And we can't keep ourselves from grinning either!

Though we're big fans of Meghan's stunning dress — a beautiful creation by British-based Australian designers Ralph & Russo — some people felt like Meghan's "racy" gown broke royal protocol. Though it appears to be semi-sheer, we're guessing that up close there's a flesh-colored lining. And considering the royal family allowed these photos of Meghan wearing the dress to be released, we're guessing Queen Elizabeth has no qualms with her future granddaughter's dress.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's First Royal Engagement

On December 1, Prince Harry and Meghan stepped out for their first joint royal engagement and greeted a cheering crowd outside the National Justice Museum in Nottingham, England.

Spectators no doubt wanted to catch a glimpse of Prince Harry's fiancée, and Meghan didn't disappoint. She looked completely at ease as she greeted and shook hands with those gathered.

Visiting Nottingham Academy

The photogenic pair looked fashionable in similar colored navy coats, with Meghan opting for a modest black turtleneck and calf-length khaki skirt.

Later, Meghan and Harry also visited Nottingham Academy and spoke with the students and faculty.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Engagement

On November 28, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public appearance as an engaged couple. The lovebirds' May 2018 nuptials will be held at Windsor Castle next year.

But before that can happen, Meghan needs to be baptized and confirmed in the Church of England. She will also become a British citizen, Kensington Palace confirmed.

At her engagement photocall, Meghan looked stunning in an emerald dress and chic white wrap coat. In fact, just hours after the engagement photos popped up on the internet, Meghan's outerwear, which was made by the Canadian brand LINE, had already sold out.

But everyone's eyes were really focused on Meghan's new sparkler. Prince Harry still managed to incorporate his mom, Princess Diana, in his big day by incorporating two stones from her personal collection in the engagement ring. Harry handpicked the third stone during a trip to Botswana in Africa.

Invictus Games

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended their first event together — the Invictus Games — in September 2017. Harry created the Paralympics-style event for wounded veterans in 2014 and has attended every year.

The couple looked at ease as they sat together to watch a wheelchair tennis match. At the time, Meghan made headlines for her shirt — a white button-dwn called "The Husband" — which was designed by her friend Misha Nonoo. Perhaps she'd been dropping hints all along?

Invictus Games

At the Invictus Games, Prince Harry also hung out with Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland. Fortunately, Prince Harry's soon-to-be mother-in-law is just as smitten as her daughter is. "Doria is very much a people's person and so isn't impressed by someone putting on airs and graces, and thankfully that couldn't be further from Harry's personality," a friend told Us Weekly at the time.

Tom Inskip's Jamaica Wedding

Meghan Markle and her then-beau made their second public appearance when they attended the wedding of Tom Inskip — a friend of Harry's — in Jamaica. This was seen as a good sign, as it allowed Meghan to meet and get to know Harry's friends. We bet they all approve of his decision to propose!

After rumors began in late 2016 that the two were dating, Prince Harry did not confirm the relationship until November 2016.
