Megan Markle’s Sorority Head Shot Proves She’s Always Been a Natural Beauty
As the world continues to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, a photo from the actress’ university days has been unearthed — and can we just say, she looks every bit the future royal. The now-36-year-old attended Northwestern University and graduated in 2003 with a double major in theater and international relations.
During her time at the prestigious school, the duchess-to-be was also a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and a newly-resurfaced portrait from the social organization shows that at 17 years old she looked exactly like she does today. Harry, you’re a lucky man! Meghan has previously opened up about her time at the university, dubbing herself a “theatre nerd.”
She wasn't always a future duchess. Once upon a time, Prince Harry's betrothed was just a communications major at Northwestern. https://t.co/FczpMGhp2u pic.twitter.com/62ipOLZBYn

“I had always been the theatre nerd at Northwestern University. I knew I wanted to do acting, but I hated the idea of being this cliche — a girl from LA who decides to be an actress,” she told Marie Claire back in 2013. “I wanted more than that, and I had always loved politics, so I ended up changing my major completely, and double-majoring in theatre and international relations.” We’d have to imagine that international relations degree will come in handy as she navigates royal life across the pond.
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, became engaged over a roast chicken dinner at their home, Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace. “It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our cottage; just a standard typical night for us. Roasting a chicken… trying to roast a chicken,” Harry said of the private moment during an interview with BBC News broadcaster Mishal Husain.
“She didn’t even let me finish, she said ‘can I say yes, can I say yes?’ and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like can I — can I give you the ring? She goes — oh yes the ring.”
“It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch her by surprise as well.” Meghan added, “It was so sweet and natural and very romantic.” The duo are set to marry at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May 2018.
