Kieran Culkin Relationship: All About His Marriage to Jazz Charton and Their Adorable Romance
Plus, a look back at his on-stage call for more kids
After that Academy Award on-stage negotiation over welcoming more children into their family, all anyone can talk about lately has been Kieran Culkin and his relationship with his wife, Jazz Charton. From a chance meeting in a bar in which Culkin let her know how stupid he thought her name was (yes, that really happened) to sharing two kids together, this couple has been going strong since 2012. Here, read all about Kieran Culkin and his relationship with his wife, Jazz.
How did Kieran Culkin and his wife meet?
Culkin charmed his wife at a New York City bar back in the early 2000s while she was working at an ad agency in the music department. Enamored by her, he approached, pointing out her English accent and asking her name. “She said, ‘Jazz.’ I said, ‘J-A-Z-Z, like the music?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s f—g stupid.'” Though a certainly crass approach, Jazz wasn’t phased by his bluntness, especially when he asked if he could be her boyfriend when she confirmed that the man she was with was not, as he told iNews.
“11 years ago today I left London for NYC for what was supposed to be a 3 month trip…,” Charton wrote in the caption of an Instagram post back in 2021. “2 babies deep now so I guess I’m staying.”

Do Kieran Culkin and his wife have kids?
Kieran and his wife tied the knot in 2013, and a few years later, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kinsey. Not long after, son Wilder joined the family in 2021. “I have a friend who had kids a couple years before me, and he goes, ‘By the way, it’s every cliche: your meaningful life goes through the roof, your quality of life goes in the toilet.’ There’s no avoiding that at the beginning. Now it’s obviously easier,” he told The Guardian of parenthood. “My quality of life is not in the toilet any more. It’s fine.”
And Culkin’s dad status is all anyone has been talking about since Oscar night a few weeks ago! When accepting the award for Best Supporting Actor for his part in A Real Pain, Culkin shared a personal anecdote on stage, calling his wife out in the audience.

“About a year ago, I was on a stage like this and I very stupidly, publicly said that I want a third kid from her because she said if I won the award, she would give me the kid. Turns out, she said that because she didn’t think I was going to win,” he said in his acceptance speech. “And people came up to her and were like, you know, really annoying her. I think it got to her. But anyway, after the show, we’re walking through a parking lot. She’s holding the Emmy. We’re trying to find our car. And she goes, ‘Oh God, I did say that. I guess I owe you a third kid.’ And I turned to her and I said, ‘Really, I want four.’ And she turned to me—I swear to God, this happened. It was just over a year ago. She said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’”
“I have not bought it up once until just now. No pressure,” he concluded. “I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get crackin’ on those kids. What do you say?”
