Kelly Clarkson Is Getting Heat for This Video of Her Daughter, But Some Parents Have Her Back
Every mom has parenting methods that others might not agree with, but celebrity mom Kelly Clarkson has landed herself in hot water after sharing what seemed like a harmless video of her 2-year-old daughter, River Rose.
On her Instagram, Clarkson posted a cute video of her toddler enjoying her first taste of Nutella. And there’s no doubt that Kelly Clarkson’s baby is adorable as the sweet little girl takes a big bite of her toast and immediately breaks into a big smile. She does a little happy dance in her chair as she munches on her breakfast.
Nutella, which markets itself as “The Original Hazelnut Spread,” is a deliciously sweet topping that tastes good on carbs, like pancakes and crepes, or straight from the jar on a spoon. With 21 grams of sugar in a 2-tablespoon serving size, Nutella isn’t the healthiest thing out there to slather on a piece of toast, but every now and then it’s a tasty treat.
But Clarkson’s good intentions were lost to some of her social media followers who lashed out at the star of American Idol.
“As a mom let me give you an advice, please don’t give that to your boy, chek out the ingredients!!” one woman wrote, mistakenly referring to River Rose a boy.
“Yep. Start them out with cancer at an early age,” another girl commented.
Fortunately, most of Clarkson’s followers went to bat for their idol, sharing positive, uplifting comments about their own children’s love for Nutella.
“Happy dancing is an appropriate reaction!” one person commented.
“My children are addicted! It goes well on apples, bananas, tortillas, gram crackers! We hid it or you will find them sitting on the counter with spoonfuls!” one mom wrote.
Whether or not Nutella is something you would let your kids eat, wouldn’t it be nice if people kept their unsolicited opinions to themselves? After all, as the saying goes, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
