Katie Holmes Reunites with Nina Repeta at ‘Our Town’ Broadway Show – A Sweet ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion
Katie Holmes' on-screen sister, Nina Repeta, joined her for a sweet reunion on Broadway
Nina Repeta, who played Katie Holmes’ on-screen sister in Dawson’s Creek, visited Holmes on the opening preview night of Our Town at Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre in New York City.
Holmes shared the reunion on Instagram, posting a black-and-white photo of the two with their arms around each other. “Thank you, Nina, for coming to see @ourtownbroadway,” Holmes wrote. She added, “A mini dawson’s creek reunion,” with a red heart emoji.
Repeta portrayed Bessie Potters, the older sister and guardian to Holmes’ character, Joey Potters. After the reunion post, Holmes also reshared nostalgic photos of her and Repeta from Dawson’s Creek, reposted from fan accounts.
Repeta shared her own post with pictures from her visit to the theater, featuring more photos with Holmes and of the Broadway show. Repeta wrote, “Mini reunion backstage of the Broadway production of Our Town with my tv sister #katieholmes . Excellent show. Go see it!!!!”
The Potter sisters recently lost a member of the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ family
Although the sweet reunion excited fans, the former Potter sisters recently lost a member of their on-screen family, Obi Ndefo, who portrayed Bodie Wells. The character was the partner of Repeta’s character and stand-in guardian to Holmes’ character.
Holmes shared a message following his passing, writing on her Instagram Stories, “He was wonderful to work with and such a kind man. I send prayers and grace to his family. Rest in Peace.”
Other ‘Dawson’s Creek’ reunions fans love to see
Earlier this year, in February 2024, Holmes reunited with another co-star, Michelle Williams, who portrayed her on-screen frenemy, Jen Lindley. The two were photographed together at Chanel’s new boutique opening on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Of course, fans of the original series, which aired from 1998 to 2003, expect for these reunions to mean the possibility of a reboot series, but it doesn’t seem like that is the case. Holmes has addressed the idea before but has said she would rather leave the show how it ended.
“We’ve definitely talked about it over the years, but I feel like that show captured that time period and that time in all of our lives,” Holmes explained in an interview. “So, I think it’s great that you are nostalgic for it. So am I. But it’s like, do we want to see them not at that age?”
More about Holmes Broadway show ‘Our Town’
Holmes is portraying Mrs. Webb in the Broadway show, which premiered on September 17, 2024, opposite Emmy-nominee, Richard Thomas, as Mr. Webb. The Batman Begins actress is also joined by other stars on stage, including Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory, Zoey Deutch of the Netflix rom-com, Set it Up.
Our Town is a “tale of marriage, loss, and community,” set in the early 1900s and following the residents of the idyllic town, Grover’s Corner, New Hampshire.
The debut of Our Town isn’t the first time Holmes has been on a Broadway stage, although it has been many years. She previously appeared in the show, All My Sons in 2008 and the 2012 production of Dead Accounts. She also had a role in the off-Broadway production, The Wanderers.
