Ellen Pompeo’s Entire Family Uses Essential Oils — Yes, Even Her 1-Year-Old
Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo hasn’t gotten where she is today without putting her health first. The successful and busy mom-of-three has always been conscious of what she puts in and on her body, which has led her to have a long and fruitful relationship with essential oils — and she’s passing those habits down to her kids! The 48-year-old teamed up with Young Living to announce their new Seedlings line, which offers a range of pure and gentle baby care products like wipes, shampoos, diaper rash creams, and linen sprays. Check out the video above to see our exclusive interview with the star.
“I’ve been using [the Seedlings products] for the past couple of weeks on my youngest Eli,” she exclusively told us. “He smells yummy… and they’re plant based, so what could be better?”

Being plant based is something that’s incredibly important to the actress, who recently went vegan with the rest of her family.
“I use all natural things everywhere in my house. I love essential oils… If I’m cleaning and using soapy water to clean my floor, I put a couple drops of sage oil [in it] and it just makes it smell so good,” she quipped. “Listen, we’re inudated with chemicals in the food, in the water, and in the air. Any time we can support companies that are all natural and plant based we should support it. Especially for this planet that our children are inheriting.”
As for her favorite essential oil scents? Well, she’s got a few, including geranium, orange, and vetiver. “I like [my scents] not to be too flowery, so if I do a flowery like a rose or a jasmine or geranium, I love to do a dash of vetiver or sandlewood and kind of take it down. Give it alittle earthiness.”
