Monica and Chandler remain one of the most iconic couples on television, with Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox bringing to life on screen the beloved duo. However, outside of Friends and her fictional romance on the celebrated sitcom, Cox has been linked over the years to countless famous faces in Hollywood. Here, take a look at her most notable real-life relationships over the years, as well as her current romance with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid.

Michael Keaton (1989—1995)

Courteney Cox and Michael Keaton made up a 90s super couple that lasted for over five years. She and the Batman (1989) actor began dating in 1989 and enjoyed a private relationship that withstood the pressures of Hollywood for quite some time. In a 1995 interview with PEOPLE, Cox got candid with the publication after the duo called it quits.

It’s the most important relationship I’ve ever had, and I think he’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever met,” she shared. “No matter how upset or pissed off I was, Michael could make a little face and crack me up.” Though the reason for their split was unclear, she further shared that, “Nothing about our relationship was ever simple.”

Who knew that the faces of two of the biggest television shows in history, Friends and Yellowstone, had a romantic past? The duo, who starred alongside one another in the 2001 film 3000 Miles to Graceland, were allegedly linked to one another after sharing the screen. Was their relationship merely speculation and wishful thinking? Possibly! But talk about a power couple!

David Arquette (1999—2013)

One of Cox’s most notable pairings was with actor David Arquette, whom she met back in 1996 when they brought to life the film Scream. More than just a casual fling was this relationship, as the couple tied the knot in 1999, remaining married for over a decade before going their separate ways when their divorce finalized in 2013. Though their marriage didn’t work out in the end, they share a daughter, Coco.

There’s difficult parts, especially through the teenage years,” Arquette told Yahoo! Entertainment of raising their daughter together after their split. “There’s a lot of emotions and feelings. We’ve just had—not an easy time with it, we’ve just been really open and supportive of each other. We never went head-to-head, [or] battled each other, through the process of divorce and through the process of raising our kid. So it’s made for a friendship and relationship that is out of respect.”

Johnny McDaid (2014—Present)

Courteney Cox began dating Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid back in 2013, and although they took a brief break back in 2014, the couple have been going strong ever since. In 2022, she gushed to PEOPLE about her long-time partner, saying, “He’s a great advice-giver. I love his heart, his intentions. His morals. He’s extremely talented and obviously musical, but he’s a poet and a writer. He’s just so smart, and I find that really sexy. And then he is gorgeous.” Wishing these two nothing but love and prosperity!
