This year, the nominees for one of the biggest awards of the night, Video of the Year, include Ariana Grande for her song “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” Billie Eilish for “LUNCH,” Doja Cat for “Paint the Town Red,” Eminem for “Houdini,” SZA for “Snooze” and Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone for “Fortnight.”

Lady Gaga has never been one to shy away from out-there ensembles, and the 2010 VMAs were no different. 5. Kanye West takes Taylor Swift’s moment in 2009
A moment in pop culture that’s hard to forget, Kanye West famously ran onto the stage as Taylor Swift was accepting her award for Best Female Video to declare that Beyoncé had “one of the best videos of all time.” It was cringeworthy, received booing from the audience and above all, made for a moment in time that both Swifites and non-Swifites alike have declared unforgivable.
