Celebrity Families That Truly Prove the More the Merrier
Who said the only child has it better? These large families prove that more really is merrier! Some of these celebrities, like Donny and Marie Osmond, came from big families themselves (can you believe there are seven Osmond children?). So perhaps it’s no surprise that Marie Osmond went on to have seven children of her own — or that she’s already a grandmother-of three-at only 58 years old. (Tragically, Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Blosil, passed at age 18 in February 2010.)
It’s not just celebrities with a lot of siblings who crave a full house. Stars like Angelina Jolie — who has one older brother — and her soon-to-be ex-husband Brad Pitt (the firstborn of three) both came from average-sized families, but went on to build up their big family through not only pregnancies but adoption as well. Jolie and Pitt have kids — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and the twins Vivienne and Knox — who seem to remain their top priority, even during the couple’s messy divorce.
Another factor that’s not slowing down these big-family-loving Hollywood stars? Age! Becoming pregnant after 40 isn’t such a big deal anymore — and some of these celebrity dads became parents again in their 40s, 50s, 60s and even their 70s. Just ask Mick Jagger, the legendary Rolling Stones frontman. We recently congratulated the English rocker on becoming a dad of eight after he welcomed a son with girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.
In honor of big families everywhere, here are a few celebrity couples who are proving more, really is merrier.
