‘World’s First’ 99-Year-Old Makeup Model Proves Beauty Is Truly Ageless
There’s a hot new model entering the beauty world — and she’s reminding us all that age really is just a number by making her debut at 99 years young! Helene Simon can be seen gracing photos for clean beauty brand Saie after being “discovered” by its founder (and her great-granddaughter) Laney Cromwell.
The company’s Instagram page recently shared glamorous snaps of Simon (also known as “Nanna”) donning a few of her favorite products. They dubbed her “the world’s first 99-year-old makeup model,” but admit they didn’t fact-check that title. Considering she has a few years on the 93-year-old “world’s oldest supermodel,” Daphne Selfe, we’d say it’s a safe bet!

Along with her beaming smile, Simon shows off the brand’s tinted moisturizer, Slip Tint (Buy from Saie, $32), Mascara 101 (Buy from Saie, $24), and Dew Blush (Buy from Saie, $22), all of which the caption explains she wears on a daily basis.
Despite the undeniably beautiful results and flood of comments praising her on the post, Simon was initially hesitant to strike a pose for the cameras. She told Good Morning America that she laughed it off when Crowley approached her with the idea and said “absolutely not.” After a little persistence from her great-granddaughter, though, she was convinced to show the world “that 99-year-old women should still be represented” in media.
Now, Simon is now regularly featured on the beauty brand’s social media pages and even shares some of her well-earned wisdom. When asked about her secret to glowing and feeling great at 99, she replied: “Don’t judge. And don’t sweat the small stuff.”
