Susan J. Baumgaertel, MD

Susan J. Baumgaertel, MD, is a a primary-care physician and founder of myMDadvocate and MenopauseMenu. After obtaining her BA from the University of Washington’s College of Architecture & Urban Planning, Dr. Baumgaertel stayed at UW to complete her Doctor of Medicine degree followed by a residency in internal medicine. She began full-time clinical practice in 1996.

For 25 years Dr. Baumgaertel cared for her patients in both hospital and outpatient settings. In 2021 she founded her telemedicine business, myMDadvocate. This was in response to requests from long-term patients desiring assistance with navigating the increasingly challenging medical arena.

Dr. Baumgaertel now serves as a physician consultant, healthcare navigator, personal coach and medical advocate. She also collaborates with primary care and specialty physicians and surgeons by providing a safety net that helps patients better manage their overall medical care.

In 2023 she published her first book, The Menopause Menu, which is an all-in-one giftbook, medical guide and recipe book for navigating menopause.
