Pepperoni, Salami, and Chorizo Sold at Whole Foods Recalled Due to Listeria Risk

Tags:

Heads up, fans of Whole Foods: A new recall of meat products from the beloved grocery store is happening right now. These recalled foods might be contaminated with listeria — a really bad bacteria that can cause fever, muscle aches, and diarrhea — so this is definitely not something to ignore.

The affected products are from the Olli Salumeria Americana company and include items like salami and pepperoni, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). They all contain the establishment number “M-45334” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in 31 states: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, Oregon, Hawaii, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC., Kentucky, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, and Rhode Island.

Yikes! If you live in one of those states and shop at Whole Foods, now is a great time to double-check all your meat products piled up in the freezer or fridge, even if you don’t think that you bought this particular brand. Detailed descriptions of all the recalled products can be found below.

But even if you didn’t purchase any of the products, it’s still worth spreading the word to fellow Whole Foods enthusiasts, just in case they haven’t heard the news yet.

Let’s do our part to help keep our loved ones safe and healthy!
