When People Called Her Fat, Daphne Oz Had the Best Response

Tags:

With Dr. Oz as a father, and as the co-host of a TV program, Daphne Oz can’t escape the limelight. Unfortunately, that means she’s subjected to criticism from Internet trolls who are so mean, they make us wonder if their parents ever taught them that if you don’t have anything nice to say, you shouldn’t say anything. It can be hard for stars to bite their tongues after reading hurtful comments, and this time she just couldn’t. But what she had to say has the Internet cheering.

Enjoying her vacation in Miami, The Chew host posted a photo of herself at the beach. Sadly, some people felt the need to fat shame the mother of two. This isn’t the first time the 30-year-old has read rude comments about her weight; early last year Oz was called “too-pregnant” to wear the gown she wore for her show’s Oscar-themed episode.

Fortunately the always positive Oz hit back at her critics with an honest and thoughtful message.

“I feel safe posting pics like this for all of you because I get how hard it is to feel good in our skin–whether we’re trying to lose or gain weight, whether we’ve had babies or not. We are under constant scrutiny. I am not perfect, I have not reached all my goals, I still see all my flaws first,” she begins.

“But progress is everything, and one positive feeling begets another. This is a space for positivity and smart strategies and results, but most importantly, it is a place for celebration and FUN,” the post continues.

“I love that you guys shut down the obvious trolls that show up on here every now and then because they seriously have no other place or way to feel heard. I try not to give them too much thought, but know that I appreciate every single one of you and you make me smile and feel good every day. I hope I can do the same for you. THANK YOU ❤️️ “

Demanding women have perfect bodies is ridiculously unfair, so we applaud her body-confident message. More of this, please!
