Hoda Kotb Will Return to The ‘Today’ Show Very Soon
One burning question many TODAY Show fans have is, “When is Hoda coming back?” The answer: Soon—very soon!
In February, viewers noticed that Hoda Kotb, a TODAY Show fan favorite, was noticeably absent from broadcasts. Toward the end of the month, she explained her temporary departure in a bombshell social media post where she revealed that she was taking time off after adopting a baby girl she named Haley Joy. And while we’re so happy for Hoda as she starts her new family, we’ve definitely missed her infectious personality in the morning.

According to People, Hoda will make her return on Monday, April 17. The news was apparently revealed during a promo for the show that ran during Thursday’s taping.
“Now you can see more of Hoda every morning with Matt and Savannah,” it said. “Join us as we welcome her back!”
When Hoda comes back, she’ll be reunited with friend and co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, although it’s not as though Hoda hasn’t seen her TODAY Show friends and colleagues. During her almost two-month absence, everyone from Matt Lauer to Al Roker and even Jenna Bush Hager has stopped by to meet Haley Joy. Heck, even celebrities like Kennedy family member Maria Shriver has met the sweet little girl.

The first-time mother has opened up about her struggle to have children. After a failed marriage and a battle with breast cancer that left her infertile, Hoda thought kids weren’t meant to be. But after years of silently grieving, she finally decided to become a mom through adoption.
“I wake up sometimes and go, ‘Oh my God, I have a baby!’” she told People. “But it feels totally real. I guess if you’ve been waiting this long for something, and you wish for it, pray for it, hope for it, wonder if it will ever be, and then it happens, nothing’s more real. Nothing.”
As she and Haley Joy carve out their new life alongside Hoda’s boyfriend of three years, financier Joel Schiffman, we can’t imagine the family is anything but overjoyed. And even though leaving baby Haley will certainly be hard, we can’t wait to see Hoda bright and early again!
