Margo Feaser, an investigator with the Seminole County Sheriff's Department, and her family were in their home late Monday night when the unthinkable happened. The neighbors reported hearing a loud boom--and then watching as the back of the house was engulfed in flames.
The Longwood, FL, residents quickly sprang to action. While two raced for the house, another called 911. One neighbor grabbed some patio furniture and smashed open a window, while his son called Feaser over so she could escape. Feaser's husband also made it out, but the couple's 2- and 4-year-old kids were still trapped inside.

The family lost their house, and suffered burns and injuries, but they are well, including Maxx. No surprise, though--the German shepherd is an ex-police dog, proving that once a K9, always a K9.
