Though the world may never stop mourning the tragic loss of Princess Diana, her legacy is still helping to change the world.
Karen Spencer, the sister-in-law of the late Princess, has decided to temporarily turn Diana’s childhood home, the gorgeous Althorp estate which has been in their family for over 500 years, into a bed and breakfast, featuring beautifully maintained gardens, a priceless art collection, and the chance to visit the Princess’s childhood bedroom.

This may sound like a strange idea, but it’s actually a very heartwarming gesture, because all proceeds will go towards improving the lives of young orphans across the globe. This is made possible by a partnership with Karen’s charity, Whole Child International, which works with orphanages in Nicaragua and El Salvador, and has helped develop a framework that is proven to help with the mental and physical health of orphans in developing countries.
While we’re sure that the wealthy and famous will be patrons of this newly iconic B&B, the rest of us have the chance to stay in the famous estate for free through a number of contests that will be offered. Wouldn’t it be a dream to get to stay in such an amazing place?
We love seeing Princess Diana’s legacy inspire such a great cause!
