If you take your clothes to the dry cleaning, you might assume that your clothes are getting a completely dry experience. But that's actually not the case. As it turns out, your clothes get pretty wet at the dry cleaners, because dry cleaners do something that you do at home.
Here's how the whole process works. First, the clothes get tagged. Next, they get sprayed with a variety of chemical solutions. Then, the solutions get brushed into the garments. And then the clothes actually get machine washed, in perchloroethylene. Suits also have an additional step, going through a steam cabinet. Finally, most items are ironed before they are bagged and put on the racks.
