We're always hearing about the glorious health benefits of red wine, such as boosting heart health and weight loss. But now it's time for white wine lovers to get their moment in the sun.
A new study at the University of Melbourne in Australia has discovered that people with type 2 diabetes who drink white wine have a lower risk of eyesight loss due to diabetes-related complications. Interestingly enough, the risk of eyesight loss is much lower for white wine drinkers than red wine drinkers, 2.4 percent and 12.2 percent, respectively. The researchers are currently unsure why white wine has such a positive effect, but that just means more studies need to be done.
We'll drink to that!
