Among the millions of Syrians who've fled their country's civil war for the chance at a better life in a more peaceful place is 17-year-old Aslan and his husky puppy, Rose.
The boy arrived in Greece on Saturday, after walking 310 miles, lugging a backpack and his beloved pup in a pet carrier. When asked why he brought Rose, he replied simply, "I love this dog. I need him." Aslan even had a special passport made just for Rose.
After a short water break, Aslan sets off again with his best friend. As he goes, a member of the UN Refugee Agency wishes the boy good luck.
