It was the wedding photo seen 'round the nation. This powerful picture taken at Marine Corps corporal Caleb and Maggie Earwood's wedding touched hearts everywhere last year. The photographer caught the couple just as Maggie was about to walk down the aisle. At that moment, Caleb took Maggie's hand and said a quick prayer. And because tradition decrees that the bride and groom shouldn't see each other until they're in front of the minister, Caleb kept his eyes shut as he leaned against the staircase.

Beautiful, right? So was the reason for the prayer: “We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will," Caleb told the Today show. "I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into.”

Now it's a year later, and the Today show caught up with the couple. Caleb was deployed to the Middle East and the Earwoods spent seven months apart. When asked about their marriage, Maggie replied it had been both amazing and tough. Amazing because of their love, and tough because while Caleb was overseas, they couldn't speak to each other very much, just through emails and the occasional phone conversation on holidays.
But now Caleb is home, and the Earwoods can enjoy marriage 24/7. They look ready to tackle anything!
