For most women, only two errands are capable of filling them with pure dread: going to a dentist appointment…and trying on jeans at the mall. It seems like even before our first leg slides into a pair, we’re already beating ourselves up for what’s to come. That’s why we all need to take a lesson from this woman.
Victoria Valdes was looking for that wow dress, and though it took her a while to find it, we think you’ll agree she nailed the choice. She originally purchased a completely different dress in a demure navy blue, but it just didn’t feel like her. So she took it back to the store and grabbed this silky red number in a size 6 (seen on her below).

It fit. Even better, she loved it way more than her first purchase. But here’s where she has a valuable lesson for us all. “I can tell you with 100% confidence that a year ago, I would have bought it and called it a day,” she wrote on Reddit. Instead, she did something very few of us would dare do: she went and grabbed the dress in a larger size. Two sizes larger, to be exact. As you can see in the picture below, it’s a knockout.
Victoria’s feelings on the sizes: “Take that body issues!” She even snapped a couple photos all dolled up with the makeup she bought to go with her new dress, “feeling quite pleased” with herself.
Let’s all agree to take a note from Victoria’s book. No size should determine how you feel. Victoria wanted to feel radiant, so she found the dress that could make her feel that way--no matter the number on the tag.
