Internet commenters from all over seem to be weighing in on the photo, with some questioning her bone placement and why on earth anyone would want to sit like this.
Well, now doctors are weighing in. And it turns out there's a medical explanation for it. Postural alignment specialist Ameet Bhakta says that while most people find sitting this way uncomfortable, a select few don't, because they are hypermobile, or hyperflexible. This simply means that a person is naturally more flexible in some areas of the body than other people.

While hyperflexible people do need to pay more attention to their joints and muscles and keeping them strong, the simple ability to cross legs like this is usually not a cause for concern.
