Dandruff. One of the least-talked-about yet most common beauty bummers. Despite how normal this scalp condition is, it's nothing short of irritating (and embarrassing!) to find those pesky white flakes in your hair and on your clothes.
And it's even more irritating when you're already using your dandruff shampoo of choice to combat the condition. You might wonder, Why does it keep coming back? Is my shampoo just not working? As it turns out, the problem might not be your shampoo, according to dermatologist Francesca Fusco.
The problem might actually be your conditioner.
As Fusco says, using a regular conditioner after using dandruff shampoo will totally counteract the preventative properties of your shampoo. If you do that, you can rinse away up to 50 percent of the flake-fighting effects.
She recommends that anyone fighting dandruff follow up the dandruff shampoo with a specific dandruff conditioner.
This is one piece of advice we definitely won't flake out on!
