Bacon fat may be delicious, but it’s one seriously tough stove stain or microwave mess. You spend more time scrubbing it off than enjoying the meaty rewards.
Not anymore with this quick and scrub-free cooking trick! Take it from a man who has been preparing bacon for years, always on the hunt for the quickest and easiest way to enjoy the ultimate savory snack. Well, he found the best way--and we put it to the test this week. We’re happy to report the microwave was entirely drip-free when we were done (and the bacon was seriously crispy and delicious).
The key to his method is folding the bacon strips into heart-shaped coils and standing them on edge instead of laying the strips flat. The usual flat-strip method causes the grease to drip off the sides of the plate. Not so with the folding technique; a couple strategically placed paper towels sop up any spare oil slick, and you can just crumple them up and toss them when you’re done. No mess, no fuss!
Watch the full technique in the video below, then run to the kitchen for a crispy, crunchy, savory snack. After all, it’s always a good time for bacon!
