Your leftover spaghetti could be costing you some serious dough each year. Sure, you’re saving some bucks by bringing your lunch to work each day, but if you’re popping half the batch in the fridge when it’s hot, sorry, you’re undoing all your hard work.
The fridge actually has to work harder to cool down the still-steaming spaghetti, cranking up your electric bill each and every time. Don’t worry, though; it’s an easy fix.
Just leave your leftovers out on the counter while you eat dinner to give them time to cool. When you’re done, slip them into the fridge at room temperature. (Just make sure they’re not sitting out for longer than two hours to prevent bacteria growth.) It’s as easy as that to save another couple hundred bucks every year!
