You finally did it. You treated yourself to that really nice shirt--and why not? You deserve it! There’s only one problem. It just will NOT stay on any of your hangers.
Let’s get this out of the way first: Do not--we repeat, do NOT--let that divine piece of dress ware sit crumpled in your closet. It needs to be hung to stay wrinkle-free. But before you brave the confusing world of Bed, Bath, and Beyond, try this simple (and cheap!) DIY trick. You don’t need those fancy, fuzzy hangers to keep your shirt in tip-top shape. All you need is a spare wood or plastic hanger from your closet and a glue gun.

Get a grip.
Make sure you choose a hanger with some heft; think broader surfaces where the shoulder of your shirt will sit. Apply a squiggly line of glue on the outside third of each side and let it dry completely. The dry glue won’t mess up your splurge blouse but it will keep it from sliding onto the floor thanks to its slight tackiness.
Bonus: You didn’t have to shell out for special hangers with those rubber-like ends. Now hang up your nice blouse like a boss.
