Doing household chores is a drag, no matter how you cut it. Splitting the work in an equitable way, though, can pay off, according to a new study. When men are doing their fair share of the chores, then the couple makes love more--and has more satisfying sex, researchers found.
Makes total sense, right? And that's what previous studies have confirmed. An earlier study found that when fathers picked up between 40 to 60 percent of kid-care, the couple had a more fulfilling love life. Ditto a study last year, when researchers discovered that divvying up housework meant couples had sex nearly eight times a month--and yes, that was more often than husbands and wives who divided the work along traditional roles.
Of course, what's fair is in the eye of the beholder. But if your mate is living up to your expectations--and what you observe in your friends' lives--then that's fair enough.
