Great news if you're a parent and a fan of Target (those two things go together so well, don't they?). Target's car set trade-in program is back this month. If you recall, this genius program allows parents to drop off old car seats for recycling in exchange for a 20 percent off coupon for their next car seat purchase.
Wow! Good for the environment and good for your wallet? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to us, It's made even sweeter by the fact that your potential purchases include not only car seats themselves, but also car seat bases, eligible boosters, and travel systems.
If it sounds like something you'd be interested in, you're in luck, because the program begins in most stores nationwide between September 10 and 23. All you have to do is find the recycling bins, either in the baby section or near the front of the store, and then find a team member who can get that coupon in your hot little hand. But you better act fast, because you only have until October 7 to redeem your coupons after you get them.
Part of a partnership between Target and Terracycle, a company that focuses on finding solutions for waste that is difficult to recycle, the trade-in program was first tested out in April. They saw enormous success when they recycled nearly 80,000 car seats. Now, they're expecting to recycle a whopping 700,000 pounds of car seat materials during this September trade-in.
And considering September is National Baby Safety Month, we can't think of a better time to take part. Of course, ensuring your child's safety is the sweetest deal you could ever get.
