For a patriotic centerpiece full of pizzazz try this surprisingly simple tray arrangement. Mimicking Old Glory is as easy as lining up red and white rows of roses along with a blue (delphinium) and white (daisy) field of stars!
*What you’ll need: *
18 red roses
11 white roses
One rectangular casserole dish (9” x 13”) filled with presoaked floral foam
One stem of blue delphinium (each has at least a dozen florets)
6 white daisies
To do: Trim all the rose stems to 2 inches, then insert them in rows, alternating colors to form stripes. Be sure to nestle the roses side by side and leave the top-left corner empty. Next, press the blue dephinium florets into the empty corner until the foam is completely covered. For a starry finishing touch, tuck six white daisies between the delphiniums.
Insider’s tip: The dense plane of beautiful blooms creates a look of elegant simplicity, but it can also make watering tricky. To ensure even hydration without disturbing the flowers, a turkey baster is the optimal helper. Just fill the baster with water and slide the tip between the blossoms, then squeeze the bulb to resoak the foam, watering one quadrant at a time to guarantee a balanced result.
