A walk on a sandy beach is a great way to exfoliate dead skin from your heels, but if you can’t make it to the shore, here’s an easy-to-do coconut-lime-sugar scrub that will leave your feet super soft…and take your senses on a tropical escape!
In a small resealable container, mix:
1/2 cup coconut oil (melt for 10-20 seconds in microwave if necessary)
1 1/4 cup white sugar
2 Tbs. *lime juice *
Once the ingredients are well-blended, scoop out a quarter-size amount of the scrub with your fingers and apply to your heels in a circular motion for 20 to 30 seconds, then rinse off the sugar with water and pat dry.
*How it works: *Lime's citric acid gently melts dry, dead skin, and the sugar crystals wisk it away for a smooth-to-the-touch feel, while the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil instantly hydrate and lock in moisture for added softness. Bonus: Lime also has antimicrobial properties to keep feet healthy.
