A Virginia couple seems to have accidentally started a totally strange naming tradition for their kids--and it's something VERY familiar to all of us.
Like most parents, when Jesse and Jennifer Nielsen had their first son, they simply agreed on a name they both liked: Grant. And a year later, when it was time for their second child, a girl, they both liked the name Madison, since they both had attended James Madison University.
That's when friends and family began pointing out something strange: Their kids were both named after U.S. presidents.
"There was no history of family names or saying, 'Hey, we're going to name all of our kids presidents,'" Jennifer said of the coincidence.
Still, when they had a third child, a girl, Jennifer says she favored the name Scarlett at the time--but she sensed that loved ones were disappointed that they weren't going to continue their patriotic tradition. So, she and Jesse got out a list of U.S. presidents, and decided on the name McKinley.
Now, the couple has HUGE news.

Which presidential name would you pick?
They're expecting another child, a baby girl, next month--and when friends got wind of the update on social media, they immediately started recommending presidential names for the fourth baby-to-be. So far, the most popular suggestions have been (Ronald) Reagan and (John F.) Kennedy. The Nielsens also like (Franklin) Pierce and (James) Monroe, the two names that round out their top four choices.
Political affiliation plays no role in their choice--but the couple does find it amusing that this baby will be born during such a wacky election year.
What name would YOU pick for the Nielsens' next daughter?
