This creamy and delicious smoothie is made with a yogurt base. Why that’s smart: In a study at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, people who enjoyed three daily servings of calcium-rich dairy products (including yogurt) lost 22 percent more weight, 66 percent more body fat and 81 percent more belly fat than those who consumed little or no dairy.
Plus, yogurt is an excellent source of phenylalanine, an amino acid that is critical to the production of energizing neurotransmitters such as dopamine and adrenaline. It’s also rich in protein, which helps keep blood sugar on an even keel for all-day pep.
Here’s the yummy recipe:
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup low-fat milk
1 container (6 oz.) nonfat raspberry yogurt
1 tsp. honey
A squeeze of fresh** lime juice**
Blend all ingredients together 30 seconds, or until smooth.
