Push Up Bras Before and After — 6 Women Prove the Right Bra Can Make All the Difference

We talked to the experts and changed these women's looks from a total bust to bra-vo!

It’s amazing how push up bras can create cleavage and add youthful volume, but sometimes they do their job a little too well — catapulting bosom out the top or creating awkward creases. Good news: You don’t have to settle for bras that don’t give you the oomph you want. These push up bras make it look like you’re naturally blessed — not like you’re trying too hard. Plus, they’ll smooth you out and make you look and feel more confident. Sound too good to be true? See these how these women look in our favorite push up bras before and after.

1. A 3-part cup push up bra ends spillage

Push up bra spillage can ruin a cute outfit. To prevent it, try a bra with a full, three-part cup. Each cup has a side panel (that works like a sling to add support), a center panel (that gives breasts a round shape) and a stretchy top panel (that prevents spillover).

Try: Panache Andorra Side Support Bra (Buy from Bare Necessities, $66).

2. A push up tank bra erases back fat

Argh! It’s so frustrating when you find a bra that perks you up in the front, then realize it creates lumps and bumps in the back. Try a tank-like bra that spreads the tension evenly over a much wider area.

Try: Shapeez Women’s Shortee Comfortable Back Smoothing Bra (Buy from Amazon, $89).

3. A double-layer minimizer push up bra nixes a uniboob

It’s great to find a bra that keeps you fully covered and contained, but these push bras sometimes visually turn your breasts into one giant lump. To the rescue: A minimizer bra. The newest minimizers have enough stretch in the cups to encapsulate each breast and boast a layer of strong sheer fabric that pushes the bust up and together.

Try: Lilyette Minimizer Plunge Into Comfort Keyhole Underwire Bra (Buy from Macy’s, $20.99).

4. Elevator ‘U’ padding push up bra boosts a saggy bust

Some push up bras just don’t do their job at all, leaving the ladies looking saggy. A molded-cup bra that has a hidden strip of U-shaped padding at the base of the cups raises breasts halfway between the elbows and shoulders—the most natural gravity-defying position.

Try: Bali One Smooth U Ultra Light Convertible Full-Coverage Bra (Buy from Kohl’s, $27.99).

5. A wide-band push up bra prevents pit pudge

Dreaded side spillage from a push up that’s too tight, gives you an unsightly bulge around your arm pits. Get everything in place with a wide back band. Look for a fully padded bra with a back band that’s at least 3 inches tall. Also, try going up a cup size — you won’t feel much difference in the cups, but the band tends to be significantly larger.

Try: Vanity Fair Women’s Beauty Back Bra with Extended Side & Back Smoothing (Buy from Amazon, $21.99-$54.73).

6. A graduated push-up bra pulls wide-set breasts together

If you feel like your breasts are too far apart, you can get them closer together with a special kind of push up bra. Padding that’s fuller at the bottom and sides and gets thinner as it goes up and in pushes bosom up and in for fuller cleavage. Crisscross the straps across the back amplify the effect.

Try: Calvin Klein Seductive Comfort Customized Lift Push-Up Bra (Buy from Walmart, $44).
