According to Local Legend, There’s a Dangerous Creature Prowling the Grounds Where Pippa’s Set to Get Married

Tags:

As Pippa Middleton prepares for her wedding to fiance James Matthews, there must be a million things running through her mind. And because her wedding is technically open to the public, she might be a bit worried about unanticipated guests. But according to some English locals, there’s a creature on the loose near the church grounds that might prove to be the most unexpected wedding crasher ever!

Just two miles from St. Mark’s Church in Englefield, there’s a town called Bradfield. According to The Mirror, Bradfield residents have spotted a puma lurking in the area. At five feet long and weighing an estimated 200 pounds, this puma is no laughing matter.

“It was stood about 20 yards in front of me and right in my headlights and took up about two-thirds of the road,” said Derek Collier, a local who lives in the neighboring town. “It was there for about ten seconds then it disappeared up the bank and into the bushes. It was a bit of a shock to say the least. It must have been five feet long from head to tail.”

And Collier isn’t the only one who’s caught a glimpse of the feline. Reports of the puma sighting date back to 2012, and residents have given the large cat the nickname “The Creature of Curridge.” Some people claim to have also seen a large black cat in the area.

While pumas are carnivores, their prey is usually much smaller than an average adult human. And, fortunately, there have been few highly publicized puma attacks on humans. Considering Pippa has her own security detail for the wedding, we doubt anything puma-related will make the news regarding her ceremony.

We’re wishing Pippa all the best at her wedding!
