Everyone’s Doing Double Takes Over This Rare Photo of Robin Williams

Long before he donned on a dress and full-on makeup for Mrs. Doubtfire, Robin Williams was showing off his talents in drag when he was still the beloved alien from his breakout TV hit, “Mork and Mindy.”

Just to recap the show: Mork had come down from planet Ork and landed in Boulder, CO, where he ended up living with Mindy, his human roommate (played by Pam Dawber). Mindy was responsible for explaining the ways of the human world to him, which Mork never quite got.

In one episode, Mork wanted to be a cheerleader. So the producers of the show actually had him come out with the Dallas Bronco cheerleaders during the half-time show. The 74,000 football fans, who were there watching the Broncos beat the New England Patriots, went wild. “We want Mork!” they shouted.

Well, who wouldn’t? Look how great Williams looks in his sequined outfit and knee-high white boots! It’s comedic gold–and it made for great TV, as did the episode, which aired on November 25, 1979. RIP Robin Williams–you were always a legend, even when you were starting out.
