The Air China flight from Bali to Los Angeles seemed routine until six hours in. That's when a pregnant passenger from Taiwan suddenly went into labor--eight weeks early. The flight attendants asked for medical help, and fortunately, a doctor on board stepped up to lend a hand.
The crew and doctor, all wearing masks, erected a blanket barrier so the expectant mom could have some privacy.
The pilot then decided to make an emergency landing in Anchorage, Alaska. But 30 minutes before the plane landed, the passenger gave birth to a baby girl. The whole cabin exploded into a round of applause when they heard the newborn cry. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing," a passenger can be heard saying on the video that recorded the birth.
The flight attendants then helped clean up the baby and her mom.
Once the plane arrived in Anchorage, the mom and baby were whisked away to the hospital, and the Air China jet proceeded to L.A. No word yet on the name of the miracle baby girl, but both mom and daughter are reported to be in good condition.
