Forget what you know about zebras--this photograph of one (or is it two?) is truly stunning. It was taken in Namibia, a country on the west coast of Africa.
Gal Zanir, a 24-year-old Israeli student, was traveling throughout the country, taking photographs of its wildlife and the landscape. One morning he came across a herd of zebras, adults and babies.
Zanir kept snapping photos as the striped animals huddled together, closing ranks to shield the younger members of the herd. But it was only when he got home two months later and was looking over his photos that he noticed this remarkable shot. He even entered it into a competition.
The photo is going viral--with good reason. And yes, it's actually TWO zebras camouflaged as one. But you knew that, right?
