We're always uplifted by miraculous pet rescue stories, but this one's all the more heartwarming because the rescuer is none other than a courageous, caring dog.
It all started when two doggie pals, Tillie and Phoebe, set out for adventure in the Washington wilderness. At some point, Phoebe, a basset hound, fell into a deep concrete ravine and was unable to climb out. Since Tillie, a setter, couldn't exactly carry her friend out and there were no humans around, she did what any true-blue best friend would do: stood guard right by her side and kept a close watch--for an entire week.

What Tillie did next is even more stunning: She set off to find help, finally making her way to some homeowners who called animal rescuers to report a dog repeatedly coming onto their property, running up to them, then turning around and heading back into the woods: Obviously, it was Tillie's smart way of saying, "Please follow me."
Volunteers arrived at the scene and followed Tillie, who led them straight to a hungry, visibly shaken Phoebe, who they immediately rescued. Both dogs, we hear, are now doing great.
Is that an amazing tale of heroism, loyalty, and dedicated friendship, or what?
