Mom Lelania Chapman was exhausted after seven months of cancer treatments. But that didn't stop her from finding the strength and willpower to be a hero.
It all started when Chapman was going on a hike in the woods with her son and a few children from her neighborhood. Suddenly, the group heard someone shouting by the nearby waterfalls.

The 43-year-old was shocked to see four teenage boys, trapped on a rock by the water. She had no cell phone service, so she started to walk back to the truck to see if she could call for help. But then she heard one of the teens say, "I just want my mom."
It was then she knew that she couldn't turn away.
"Some people say it's a mother's instinct," Chapman said.
So this mama bear, who had lost a ton of weight from radiation and could barely lift a watermelon, grabbed a rope from her backpack and climbed down the ravine to get closer to them. They had a rope that they tossed to her, and she tied it to the nearest tree. After tossing it back to the teens, she made a daring rescue.
She used the rope to pull the biggest boy--who weighed about 160 pounds--up to safety first.
"I don't know how I picked him up by myself," she said. "I don't really know to this day."

She and the teen pulled the other boys back together. Before long, they were all home safe and sound with their moms--all because of her act of bravery.
It was then that Chapman heard the best thing ever from her young son, amazed by his mom's power.
"He said 'You know what, mom? You are going to [beat] cancer because you are the strongest mom around,'" she said. "That is probably one of the most important lessons that I learned that day. I do have the strength."
