When Arizona mom Michelle Fortin was driving her children home, she heard her young son cry out, "Mommy! Mommy! She unbuckled her seatbelt."
As it turned out, Fortin's 3-year-old daughter Camille had indeed unbuckled herself.
Though Fortin tried to explain the importance of staying buckled, she wasn't positive that her preschooler understood.
So as soon as she got home, she made what she admitted was an "extreme decision" and turned Camille into the police.

Sure enough, two cops responded to her call, and explained to Camille exactly why it was so important to always wear a seatbelt. And by the end of the explanation, the little girl assured them she'd never go without one again.
Her mom is confident she won't forget this lesson now.
"This was something that would hurt her. Her safety was at risk, so I took it for what it was—a teachable moment," she said.
