Less than two weeks after Jedediah Bila announced that she is exiting The View after less than two seasons, sources are confirming to multiple outlets that Meghan McCain is set to fill her seat. According to Entertainment Tonight, she's expected to join the panel in early October.
Meghan — the outspoken daughter of Arizona Senator John McCain — was likely chosen because ABC has been searching for a strong conservative voice to join The View ever since Candace Cameron Bure left the daytime program in December 2016. Meghan just recently left her job as a contributor at Fox News. She also served as a co-host on the network's show, Outnumbered.

As previously reported, Jedediah, 38, revealed on the Monday, September 18, episode of The View that she had made the decision to leave. "So this is my last day at The View. This has just been an amazing journey and I appreciate all of you. I want to thank the viewers, even the ones that write me hate tweets," she began. "This has been a really great experience and mostly I just want to speak to the viewers and say we are nothing without you.”
She also gave her co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Paula Farris, and Sara Haines, a shout-out in her televised sendoff. "I wanna thank these ladies,” she said. "What you don’t know about us is, these ladies, we’re really friends. Sunny’s texts, Whoopi, you’re my inspiration, Joy when I need comedic relief, this is where I go, so we’re gonna be friends no matter what.”
Many viewers have speculated that Jedediah’s departure has something to do with a recent interview with Hillary Clinton, in which she asked the former Democratic presidential candidate hard-hitting questions about her new book, What Happened. "It was Jedediah's job to ask the tough questions. She did her job,” a source told E! News, adding that there was a bit of “backlash” behind the scenes.
"Her departure had nothing to do with the Hillary Clinton interview," a rep for the show said in a statement. "Jedediah asked good questions during that interview, and the producers were pleased with how she handled it.”
