Woman Took 7 Pregnancy Tests Before Doctors Discovered the REAL Reason for Her Bloated Belly and Back Pain

Tags:

When she was only 25, Louise Bryant had a huge scare. The happily married British police department dispatcher began complaining of pains. Every time she changed positions in bed or got out of her car, she felt a shooting pain in her stomach. She also started bleeding. Finally, her husband insisted she go to the doctor.

Because her belly was bloated, the doctors thought she might be pregnant, and told her to take a pregnancy test. It came back negative. She developed back pain and became extremely exhausted. Still, the doctors insisted she take a pregnancy test. Then another and another. All told, she took seven of them before one of the doctors ordered her to undergo an ultrasound to find out why she was having these symptoms.

The tests revealed an 8-inch cyst on her right ovary. But it wasn’t benign, the way 98 percent of cysts are. It was cancerous. Because it the germ cell tumor (as this type of cancer is called) was only on one ovary, Bryant had surgery to remove the right ovary and Fallopian tube. That way, she could have children later.
