Zalend is a brave boy.
At only 9 years of age, he sadly lost one of his fingers in an accident. Understandably, he was very nervous about showing people his injury. But he's not anymore. That's because he has two brave mentors standing by his side--quite literally.
Lt. Rackow and Officer Edwards of the Midland Police Department took a photo with Zalend to show him that he is not alone. And just like them, he can do anything that he wants to do and be whoever he wants to be.
