Kirsty Ball had always been a bigger woman, but her weight ballooned to 322 pounds while she was pregnant for the first time.
"I was eating for more than two," she said.

But in the midst of eating all the chocolate in sight, she got a serious wakeup call when her weight ended up putting her life--and her unborn child Malachy's life--at risk.
"I ended up with pre-eclampsia and had to have an emergency C section because Malachy’s heart nearly stopped," she said. "My blood pressure was through the roof."
Thankfully, both mother and child made a full recovery. And after that scare, Ball was determined to make a lifestyle change.

So she adopted the Slimming World eating plans and swapped her sweets and unhealthy snacks for fruits and veggies and homemade meals. She also began exercising regularly, going on a long walk twice a week.
Now, two years later, she has shrunk from a size 24 to size 12 and lost a whopping 161 pounds. She is literally half the woman she was before.
"It comes to a point when you need to do it, for yourself and your kids," she said. "That’s when you get the willpower."
The beloved singer's weight has fluctuated since she won American Idol, but she's gotten into kickboxing. That's her on the left in 2015 before getting pregnant with her second child, and on the right in October 2016.
