UPDATE (2/3/2017) -- Good news for Jessica Simpson!
Last November the singer's father, Joe, announced he had prostate cancer. According to Us Weekly, the 58-year-old father of two has recently begun radiation and remains in good spirits.
“Joe just started radiation. He feels fine, he’s getting through it and still working. It’s all scheduled once a week. He’s super optimistic,” a source told the magazine. “Doctors are hopeful that this will take care of it and be the last step, and he will hopefully then be in remission and cancer-free. Joe just says he feels like it’s like going to get a checkup.”

Joe, who works as a photographer, has continued working as it helps distract him. He has also spent time bonding with his children, Jessica and Ashlee. Jessica, 36, fell out with her father when he divorced their mother, Tina Simpson in 2013. Since his cancer diagnosis, the two have worked on repairing their relationship.
“They’re all closer because of what he’s going through.”
