Add chocolate to your grocery list now. You’re going to want to get a taste of this sweet change happening at Hershey’s as soon as possible.
The classic candy company, while quintessentially American, has been using artificial vanilla flavor--called vanillin--in its Kisses and bars. But with the consumer push for more transparency in ingredients, the Pennsylvania-based company has joined the ranks of companies like General Mills, Kellogg’s, and Campbell’s that are replacing artificial ingredients with real ones. Enter: real vanilla.
The change quietly rolled out a couple weeks ago, according to Time, which means you can grab bags with the new recipe as soon as right now. Though they report that the swap is likely undetectable, we’re still counting it as an excuse to eat chocolate.
