We’re already impressed that you’re using the skincare staple--it took us years and years to get to that point--but there’s a certain way to apply it that maximizes the results, and it’s not how most of us have been taught.
We generally learn to put on moisturizer and eye cream right before hitting the hay so they can work their wrinkle-busting magic overnight. Turns out, we’ve been doing it wrong for years.
Applying eye cream at night can actually make your sparkling blues and soulful browns look even puffier the next morning. As you toss and turn, the cream can actually work its way into your eyes, causing irritation. Your eyes water as you sleep and the excess moisture can travel down to those bags under your eyes. Yikes!
Luckily, the solution is beyond simple: apply your eye cream in the a.m. You might want to start your sunrise skincare routine a little earlier than usual so that it has time to soak in before your apply your makeup, but it’s well worth the minor morning adjustment. Brighter, more alert eyes, here you come!
