It would have been easy for this young customer in a drug store to get angry at the employees for making fun of her shorts. It would have also been easy for her to simply turn away.
But Harriet Rae decided to take a different approach.

Rae took to Facebook to proudly share a picture of herself in the shorts she was mocked for wearing, and attached an open letter to the bullies that is quickly going viral.
She wrote, "It's obviously not the first time you've had a giggle and a made comments about another girl, but when you do it normally, the person you talk about probably looks away and you actually make them feel really sad inside. But today, by the looks on your faces you really weren't prepared for the massive cheesy smile I gave you!"
Rae went on to write that while she didn't let their comments bring her down, it did make her sad that some women still find it acceptable to talk about other people in this unkind way.
"So in response to your comments, I send back some love!" she continued. "If you did your own hair and make up for work today, you are both very talented. I could never get my winged liner or my ponytail that perfect!"

Is it any surprise that her "kill 'em with kindness" approach was shared more than 50,000 times on the social network? As if that wasn't wonderful enough, she also got an apology straight from the drug store, who will now be using her post as part of training for employees.
