Our clever Advent garland is made in minutes from tiny red gift bags and clothespins!
What you’ll need:
1 (9') length of rope or ribbon
1 package (at least 50-count) of 1" white-dot stickers (from the office-supply store)
2 dozen mini red gift bags (such as Mini Gift Bags #IN-3/2508, $6.50 for 24, at OrientalTrading.com)
24 wooden clothespins
Treats to fill bags: candy, small toys or mini scented candles
Optional: 1 package snowflake stickers & 1 set number rubber stamps (from the craft store)
To do: Tack up the 9'-long rope draped in three 3'-long swags along a window frame or staircase banister. Write or stamp the numbers 1 through 24 on white-dot stickers and affix one number to each bag. Decorate the bags with snowflake stickers if desired. Then fill them with handfuls of treats. Use wooden clothespins to clip the handles of the bags onto the rope in random order. An easy alternative: Simply hang the bags like ornaments on your Christmas tree!
