George W. Bush Photobombed a Reporter at a Baseball Game Proving He’s Just a Kid at Heart

When you’re no longer the President of the United States, you have a lot of free time on your hands. So what do you do with said time? If you’re George W. Bush and your family used to own the Texas Rangers, you probably go to a lot of baseball games. And when you’re a celebrity in a public place, you can usually guarantee a camera will be in your face. That is, unless you’re George Bush, in which case you bring your face to the camera.

During what might have been a pause between innings, George W. walked right into a Fox Sports broadcast, and what he did next has assured the nation that “Dubya” is just a big kid. In the middle of reporter Emily Jones’ segment, George is seen walking to his chair. Just as he’s about to pass the camera, he turns and looks viewers straight in the eyes and says, “Hey!” Oh, George! Fortunately, his on-camera antics didn’t distract Jones.

When Time interviewed Jones about the encounter, she explained that she walked up to the former president to ask him if he really did it. His reply? “Yep, I sure did!” Now that’s too funny! He sounds like an adorable child who misbehaves and then, when confronted, turns out to be very happy with his handiwork. Good thing Jones had a sense of humor.

“I’ve been photobombed before, but he was the President, so he’s kind of a big deal,” she said.

And apparently the two have a bit of history—which totally makes sense given she’s a sports reporter and he’s a man with connections to sports team owners.

“He’s obviously very playful and likes to joke around. I can’t even tell you what a nice man he is,” Jones said in her Time interview, mentioning that the younger Bush asks her often about her kids.

Aww, so sweet! Keep having fun Mr. President.
